FIRST AMOUNT OF GOLD FROM THE VICTORIA MINES
The first amount of Gold received in Melbourne from the Victorian Mines arrived there in September amounting to three thousand pounds.
PRODUCTIVENESS OF THE BUNINYONG GOLD FIELD
On the 9th of October 1851 the Brig "Dart" arrived from Melbourne bringing intelligence of the immense productiveness of the Buningyong [Buninyong] gold field - £12,000 worth of gold had been gathered together there by 567 men in the space of a few days, and the daily yield was calculated to amount to Six thousand pounds

This statement was by Mr Lloyd & gave you the gold shipped during the first six months of working.

PRODUCTIVENESS OF THE YIELD OF GOLD IN VICTORIA NOVEMBER 16th 1852
This is given with a view of furnishing with as precise data the uncertain nature of the operations which were
then far undertaken - A Melbourne gold brokers ['s] opinion of the Yield of gold to parties working at the gold mines of Victoria up to that date, stated that " He was of opinion that the more fortunate parties had realized [realised] from six to eight pound weight of gold from their respective claims - That the somewhat less lucky
had earned from ten Shillings to £1 per day per man, and that the other [others] there had reaped less than an average wage down to zero - The price of provisions were at this date flour ranging from £8. to £10. per sack
Bacon 1/3d, Beef 7d to 8d Mutton 6d to 7d per lb, at this time supplies had been largely procured from the Sydney Side in Consequence of rumours which were current in October 1852 as to the rich and prolific Yield of the Victoria Gold fields.
