GUALCANBA ON THE WOLAMUMBI RIVER. COUNTY OF SANDON

Gualcanba is occupied as an out Sheep Station and belongs to the Rockvale run. Gold was found here in 1854. that found on the ridges, near to the houses is fine the Soil is there Sandy; the gold found in the bed and banks of the Creeks and river is nuggety, the Smallest being the Size of wheat grains. Gualcanba is three Miles to the Southward of the head Station at Rockvale. This Station is twenty two miles from Armadale, & one hundred & Sixteen Miles from the Sea port of Grafton on Clarence river. At Gualcanba the river abounds with Waterfowl, they are Seldom disturbed by the Sportsman on this part of the river.    There are no fish Caught at this Station which is Situated on the table land of New England, and above the Cataracts or falls, below these falls on the Macleay river of which the Wolamumbi is a tributary, the Stations on the river are Supplied with an abundance of the finest fish
