LAND SALE
SALE OF SYDNEY TOWN LOTS.
NOVEMBER 29th 1855.
The government land sale of yesterday was one of great excitement, and the prices obtained
unsurpassed, in the history of the City. The corner allotment of Hunter and New Pitt streets produced the extrordinary [extraordinary] price of £101 per foot or at the rate of Seventy thousand pounds per acre. The sale comprised fifteen allotments, fourteen of which were sold. The following are the prices and the purchasers of the different lots.
Lot 1. 23 feet on Hunter Street at £51 per foot.
