MISCELLANEOUS NOTES.

the power of Electricity or Galvanism required for the operation can be measured to a certainty, and either of these agents might be used in future experiments which may prove most advantageous, or of easy and ready application in sheep districts.
The Operation Can be repeatedly applied to sheep singly, to ensure success or in a body. for instance, a whole flock may be electrified together, In experiments first singly, an immediately thereafter upon the whole flock, by being performed on each sheep the operation may be said to be done with certainty. Although I am of opinion that the operation may be performed upon a flock of a thousand sheep with equal success.
This may be effected in the following manner. First by penning the sheep close and light in a pen or shed and by placing an iron chain or chains connected with the Battery over the backs  and coiled round the bodies by several of the sheep at short distances, either these, or iron rods as the operator may choose, or may Consider most useful or advantageous for his purpose and immediately thereafter pass a current of electric fluid upon the sheep from the Battery, along these Conductors.
It has been ascertained that wool while on the sheeps back is a good conductor, the tube of the wool being then filled with the oil from the animals body.
Should my system be introduced of destroying the Shab insect on Sheep in Australia, and experimented upon by scientific persons in these Colonies, and I am convinced of its success, provided the application be properly and carefully effected, this system will entirely change the present expensive, destructive, and tardy operation of Curing the disease by the application of powerful preparations of Mercury, and Caustics.
