Importation of Coin to Purchase Australian Gold for Exportations

The [can't read] brought in this week from Sofala 1061 ounces, Tumbaroora 579 ounces, Meron 573, Mudgee Bathurst 53 ounces, Braidwood 319 ounces, Majors Creek 180 ounces, Bells Creek 141 ounces, Goulburn 28 ounces, Hanging rock & Bungera 1448 ounces and the snails from Bathurst 107 ounces, Sofala 110, Braidwood Gundagai 46 ounces, Moreton Bay 14 ounces, making a total of 4508 ounces worth about £ 16, 000.
The price has varied but little through the week and may be quoted at 71p to 71/6 for [Britain] & 67p 6 to 68/6 for new South Wales.
The banks have received large amounts of coin during the week over £200,000 & private houses have also received space to purchace gold, but are cannot [can't read] that the price can be influenced to any extent, [can't read] as alteration should occur in the extent as it would be more profitable for private houses to send back the money in Bank drafts to purchase gold at much advance on percent rates. Total gold exported to this data £2,707,143
Exchange on London Drafts against gold nominally 9 per cent Freight 1/2 percent.
