ten Miles to the eastward of Camerons Creek gold field. The gold got at Rockvale is of Nuggety description, darker in Colour than Rocky River gold. — The Country abounds in quartz, & Slate. The Wolamumbi river takes its rise from Chandlers Peak range which divides the waters of the Macleay and Clarence. Rockvale is situated at an elevation of 4101 feet above the level of the Pacific Ocean. The aborigines name this Station Erotta. This Station was taken up by Donald McIntyre Esqr of Kayuga on Hunter River in 1838.

Limestone which has long been Considered a desideratum in the District of New England has been discovered by Mr W Chappel in great quantity and of good quality within three Miles of Wellingrove, he has also found gold within a Short distance of the Township
