Thursday 14 March [1918]
Up at 10. Foggy & low clouds. Went up at 11.30 to test my machine. After lunch General Salmond, the G.O.C., came. He sent for me & asked all about our fight yesterday. He was very decent about it all & congratulated us on the whole thing. Went to Amiens to tea and had a bath afterwards. Back to aerodrome at 7 p.m. & changed. Went with the C.O. to dinner at the wing & had a very nice evening. Back about 11.30 p.m. & to bed.
Letter to Aunty Mary.
