Sunday 29 December [1918]
Up at 10. Read Mass Prayers after breakfast. The General Election has resulted in a sweeping majority for Lloyd George. Asquith & his gang and Ramsay Macdonald & Co. have all lost their seats! In the afternoon Margaret & I went for a walk. She drove me to Fairford to catch the 6.35 train. Got back to the Wing about 8.30. An order has come out that University students are to be demobilised. I'm going to get out! Old Claye is on his way from Germany.
