Friday 24 May [1918]
Up at 10.30. Bryan & I decided to go to Fowey by the night train tonight. Packed all my kit before lunch. To Cox's where I saw A.J. Clarke – now at Air Board. Lunch with Bryan at "Petit Riche". Back to hotel & then to the Duke of York's Theatre & saw "Hotch Potch" – a cheery revue. Fred Kitchen very amusing. Back to hotel to get a message from Cis. Went shopping till 6.30 when we met Cis & Austie at the Regent Palace & had dinner together at the Troc. They caught the 9 train. Bry & I went back to the Grosvenor & got our bags & then caught the 10 train from Paddington.
Got a most cheery cable from home – they are most bucked at my return.
