Cable to Father & Mother
Letters from Aunty Mary (to France), Mrs. Vidal
Cable from Father & Mother

Friday 22 March [1918]
Up at 9.30. Letter from the C.O. saying that I have been awarded the M.C. I am awfully glad because it will cheer up darling old Mother & Father to no end. After late breakfast to Cooling & Lawrence & hoisted the colours! To Cox's & cashed a cheque & to the Eastern Cable Co. & cabled the glad news to home. Busy shopping till 1 p.m. when I met Margaret & Miss Butler at Prince's for lunch. After lunch wandered in to have another look at the wonderful war photos at the Grafton Galleries. More hard shopping in afternoon. Went to Confession at Maiden Lane. Dinner at Les Gobelins with Margaret & to see "The Bing Boys on Broadway" – a most excellent revue. George Robey & Violet Lorraine are great. Saw Margaret home & then back to Ford's.
