Sunday 14 July [1918]
Raining in torrents so I gave breakfast up & stayed in bed. Got up about 10. To office & did a few jobs. Down at 11 to Mass but the padre had forgotten the key of the Church so that prevented there being any Mass. Collier came about 12. I started to pack up before lunch & finished after. Left by tender & reported to Wing at Oxford about four. Had tea & settled down. A very bright evening as there was a dance for the Colonel's sixth anniversary of getting his ticket. To bed about 1 a.m.
