Friday 15 February [1918]
Up at 9.30. Still "dud" but showing signs of clearing. Worked in flight all day. Got my left bottom plane changed as it is showing distinct signs of giving. James landed in the sea six miles from Dunkirk on his way from England. He was rescued by the R.N. [Royal Navy] Patrol boats. Both he & his passenger are all right and are coming on by tender. Dinner with 73 Squadron. Played Bridge after dinner. Back to bed about 11.30.
