Sunday 13 January [1918]
Breakfast in bed. Up at 10. Feeling a bit "groggy" still. Did various jobs at sheds. After lunch had to go off to Morton-on-Marsh [Moreton-in-Marsh] by tender as Hewens had crashed there. Hewens is in hospital with concussion but not dangerously hurt. Machine is destroyed. A most strange accident as he apparently lost control at 14000 ft. Had tea at the local pub & then drove back to the aerodrome. Wrote letters after dinner.
