Monday 25 March [1918]
Up at 10.30. Breakfast in bed. Round to the station to get a parcel & back & read the papers. The Huns have advanced & taken Peronne & Ham – serious news but not anything to get pessimistic about. Put on mufti before lunch – the first time for nearly two years!! Some comfort! In afternoon all rowed up to Pont & had tea. Back to dinner & then to the local cinema. A poor show – the "star" film was one I saw in Sydney nearly 3 years ago!! Got a most cheery cable from home:- "Well done Hughes the great!" Reminds me of dear old Roger's pet joke. I'm feeling rather restless away from the squadron with this "push" on – can't help it!
