Cicely's Wedding.
Saturday 5 January [1918]
Up at 8. Off to Paddington & arranged a reserved carriage for Austie & Cis. Got Austie's boots & bought a pair myself & also a cap. Back to the Strand Palace at 10 & to Maiden Lane Church with Austie. After the wedding all went to the Savoy. The family dashed off by taxis to Arbuthnots to have photos taken of the wedding group. Back to the Savoy to the breakfast. A splendidly cheery party. Got Austie & Cis safely off to catch their train. Stayed on at the Savoy for tea. Met Winkley, Burrell & McCoy of good old 10 Squadron! Back to the Strand Palace, had a bath & changed. Off to the Troc to dinner – another large & cheery party. To the Gaiety to see "The Beauty Spot" – a splendid show. Supper at the Savoy with Mrs. Preston finished up a truly wild & woolly day. All very weary but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
