Tuesday 9 July [1918]
Up at 8. Breakfast & Roll call after. A very busy & worrying morning in the office. Colonel McLean, Col. Freeman, & Col. Martyn came to inspect things but did not worry me. Roll call again after lunch and more worry in the office. Had to go at 3.30 by tender to Oxford to catch the 4.30 to London to report at S.E. Area tomorrow. Got to town about 6 & went to 5 Marble Arch & found Aunty & Mary. Yarned with them before dinner & after. To bed fairly early.
