Tuesday 26 March [1918]
Up at 10. War news is till serious – the Huns have taken Bapaume, Nesle & Chaulnes. I wish I were out there in it – it is so hard to read about it all. Met Bryan and Maurice on the links & played a round of golf. Back to lunch. After tea we all went up to the links again & played another round. After dinner I went round to the hospital & played bridge & bagatelle with the lads till 11 p.m. Margaret wrote to say that Fenton, Clutterbuck & Ferguson are prisoners – bon!
