Tuesday 22 January [1918]
Up at 6.30 & waited for A.M.L.O. [Assistant Military Landing Officer] Disembarked about 8.30. Had a small riot with A.M.L.O. which ended very satisfactorily. Marched off to No. 1 Rest Camp. A trying march – about six miles. Got fairly well settled down & had a bit of lunch at Y.M.C.A. Had a kit inspection & then off by train & taxi to Ordnance Depot on the docks to indent for equipment to complete the men's kits. Back by taxi about 6. Down to Havre with Davis & met Claye, Hay, Wells & Watson at Tortonis & had a most excellent "Fizz" dinner. A very cheery evening. Taxi back to camp & to bed about 10.30.
