Tuesday 1 January [1918]
Up at 9. Very "dud" day. High wind & low clouds. Busy all the day in the sheds doing various jobs. Caught the post tender to Cirencester with Major Davy, Kennedy & White. Then by cab to the Harrisons at Coates. Had to push the cab up the hills! Had dinner & a very merry evening playing games. Back by cab to Ciceter [Cirencester] – an even worse journey than the outward one. Picked up the car there & home to bed about 1 a.m.
