Friday 22 February [1918]
Very "dud" day. High wind & low clouds. Up at 10. Our Hun is confirmed by A/A [Anti-Aircraft] gunners. Went off in a tender at noon with Claye, Wells & a mechanic to take a new back tank to James. Had lunch at Hazebrouck. Called at Abeele to see Major Henderson but he had gone yesterday. Got to Poperinghe about 2.30 & went to aerodrome & saw James. James, Hay, Wells, Claye & I had tea at the club in Poperinghe & did some shopping after. Left about 5.30 & got back to the squadron in time for dinner. The Colonel has sent his congratulations on the Hun. Yarned after dinner with C.O. To bed fairly early.
