Monday 11 March [1918]
Up at 9. Very misty in morning. The Colonel came & asked all about our fight yesterday which he said was "a damned good show". Lunch at 12.45. Went off leading an offensive patrol of 12 machines at 1.30 p.m. Got well "archied". Attacked by 3 Triplanes. Symons & Sgt. Holmes shot one down which crashed in flames. I dived on 2 others & sent one down out of control & the other in a vertical dive. Later saw four more Triplanes below & fired on them. Shot two down in a spin but they landed on an aerodrome. Circled over their aerodrome at 7000 ft. then re-crossed the lines. Another good day for "B" Flight. Stripped my gun after tea. Allen & Hay landed at 8 Squadron.
