Thursday 25 April [1918]
Up at 7.30 standing by for a job. Very cloudy all day with thunderstorms in afternoon. Sent up Blowes, a new pilot, & he made an awful show. Sent Took him up myself in the evening & then he went up again and did far better. Played some bridge after dinner. Claye & others went to Etaples in a tender. Got a grand home mail & some splendid snapshots of Peter's birthday party.
