Sunday 21 July [1918]
Up at 6.30. To Mass at 7.15 & back to breakfast. Foch's counter attack has succeeded splendidly – 18000 prisoners & the Huns going back across the Marne! Off to Rendcomb at 9.30 with Lindsay & Williams. Spent most of the day there going into all matters of training. After tea we left & called in at Witney on the way back. Played a little bridge after dinner.
I had my chin lanced at Rendcomb & it has given me great relief from the pain. A great supply of food from home!
