Maurice's Birthday

Thursday 23 May [1918]
Up at 10. Thunderstorms & rain during the day. Wrote letters in morning. Met old Bryan at the Trocadero & had lunch. He has 7 days leave & we are going to Fowey together. After lunch went to Histed's with him while he had his photo taken & ended by having my own taken too. Met Reg Provost there – he is looking very knocked out & is going back to Sydney on leave. Went with him to tea at the Buchanan's flat in York House. Had a very cheery afternoon. Dinner at "Rendez-Vous" & then to see "Be Careful Baby" at the Appollo – an amusing farce. Bry got a room at the Grosvenor near me.
