Monday 6 May [1918]
Darling old Roger's birthday. Low clouds all day. Up at 10.30. Did various jobs at aerodrome. In afternoon worked on fittings for a double Lewis gun for Claye, which I think is a sound idea. Palardy crashed very badly doing a stall on a climbing turn. He is badly hurt but is still alive. Played bridge after dinner with C.O., Gibbons & Knights.
