Telegram from Austin & Cis.

Saturday 23 March [1918]
Up at 7. By bus to Maiden Lane to 8 Mass & Holy Communion. Breakfast at Strand Palace. Taxi to Bank & Cox's & then to Cooling & Lawrence, Herbert Johnsons & back to Ford's to get my bags. Caught the 11 a.m. from Paddington to Fowey. Got some lunch at Exeter. Arrived at Par about 5.30 & met Aunty, Mary & Bryan there. Train to Fowey & met Maurice at the station. Walked round to 10 Harbour View Terrace & had dinner & some "bubbly" to celebrate the M.C. [Military Cross] Yarned till 10 & then to bed. This seems to be a very "bon" place. Find I have got a mention for "valuable services in connection with the war". That is for the instructing in England.
