Wednesday 2 January [1918]
Up at 9. A fine day at last. Flew hard all day. Made about seven flights totalling 2½ hours. Did a lot of fighting practice with observers. Selected my own machine. Its number is 4630. Got a splendid lot of home letters and a cable – much joy! Very weary after a strenuous day's flying. Played a rubber of bridge after dinner & then to bed.
