Friday 11 January [1918]
Up at 9. Did not fly myself during the morning. Spent most of my time at gunnery. An awful accident to a Bristol just before lunch. It turned over on landing & burst into flames. The pilot, Parrish, was pinned under the machine & terribly burnt. The observer escaped. I had to be inoculated after lunch. Made my arm very sore & looks like making me rather off-colour. Feeling rather feverish & headachey so to bed early.
