Sunday 12 May [1918]
Very cloudy & windy. Up at 9.30. To aerodrome to do several jobs. Hope to get Flight Sergeant Abel promoted to technical Sgt. Major. Went to Mass at the village church. Early lunch & a crowd of us went off to the wood to take part in the great boar hunt! Waited a long time while the local Frenchmen argued with the head Keeper. Eventually the hunt began but some of us were frightened of the wild methods & wierd weapons of the local talent & kept safely away from the guns. The first thing shot was an R.F.C. sergeant! We sent him to hospital & came home!! Played some bridge after dinner.
