Up at 10. Went to Golf Club with Bryan and played a round before lunch. Very strong wind blowing. Played much better than last time. After lunch we hired a sailing boat to go to Loswisthiel [Lostwithiel]. Aunty & Mary decided not to come so Bryan, Maurice & I started off & had a great run up the river as far as St. Winnows [St. Winnow] where we ran on to a sandbank! Got off after a while but decided not to go on to Loswisthiel. Landed at St. Winnows and had a look at the beautiful old church. Rowed back to St. Veet & had tea. Started to sail back but couldn't make much headway against the wind, so rowed most of the way. Very rough when we got to Fowey about 7.30. Bry came round & yarned after dinner.
