Dinner tomorrow with Gen. Lassetter

Tuesday 8 October [1918]
Up at 6.15. To Paddington by Underground and caught the 7.30 to Oxford. Arrived about 10.30. Went to Port Meadow & flew to Witney. Saw an awful crash there – a Bristol Fighter collapsed in the air. Had lunch a Witney. Flew back to Port Meadow. Took up the "Snipe". Back to Wing. Too late to go to town. Australian mail – wonderful letters from darling Mother & Father, God bless them. Wrote letters after dinner.
