"Derbyshires" fought, thirty three years ago. We often go out, in fact we go over the gun pits and trenches every day, for route marches. All the boys in camp had a good old time at Christmas time, plenty of billies, and cakes.  Where we are now is out of the way of Cairo, and Heliopolis, as it is a good three hours run from the former; all of the boys have had at least three months experience on the peninsula, are entitled to leave, but only twenty four hours;  that is just a little outing for us; I have been into town once, and am going again in the course of a few days. There is a big difference between the last time that I was in Egypt, and now, it was quite hot here in July, but this month is quite on the cool side. Have met quite a lot of the boys from Neutral Bay over this side, most of them know that "Billiard" player (Rod) "Big Nicks" brother. How is Rod getting on, I suppose he will soon be back again, but in a Victorian battalion. Glad to here you like both Miss, and Mrs Cruickshank,
