"Somewhere in France"
July 5th 1916

Dear Mother,
Things have changed since I last wrote to you, as we are now in the Capital. (Somewhere in France) We are billeted at a farmhouse in a little village within hearing of the guns, expect we now will be closer shortly. It is a glorious country after Egypt, as everthing is green from one end to the other.  It rained yesterday while we were out, and of course it did rain, but I suppose we will have plenty in time. Well Mother only a note this time as I am sending a letter shortly in which I will tell you more. Love to all from

Your loving son
Rex
