The weather is still hot, but do not care for that as I am brown as the W door used to be and that was some colour.  How are those nasty headaches of yours?  Peter, Nigger and the dog are still being fed on the best food as per usual, no need to ask that though.  Lately I have not seen any boats pass here, nor newspapers either; I was thinking that the war must be over, I hope its true.  There was a bit of an encounter along the sandy plain the other day, of course the enemy was beaten again; the lost horse had their name in the Gippo papers thats good
enough, for that will soon find its way to the Sydney papers.  Rod is still the same old way, cheeky as ever, his first words were, how much brass yer got. Of course I had to part up with a fifty piastre note, worth 10/3.  He seems to have had a snifter time coming and going on these huge liners.

Do you know Dorothy Wright, well she wrote me a snifter letter, and by the way a pal of mine knows her.  Well mother we have no news to-day, so will come to a conclusion by sending heaps of love and best wishes to you all, also to Raheen.

Remind Dad of the camera.

I am
Still yours faithfully
Rex (one of the Nest eggs)
