Fovant Camp
Salisbury
5 - 7 - 17
Dear Yvonne,
Have had no time for any writing lately hence the gap between this and the last. Since writing to you last we, all the Australians have been moved out of Wareham camp to this beastly hole, its worse than being in France, dinkum. It is like moving from Neutral Bay to Liverpool, even worse, for there are only four shops in the village; Salisbury which is thirteen miles away is a snifter place, but so far have had no luck to get there.
Last week it rainined like blue murder everything got washed away exactly the same as it does at Hayes St wharf.
When there is no rain it is not bad it is good weather then but when it rains you cannot put a greatcoat on for it would be too muggy.
Last Sunday week Rupe came over from his camp to see me, he did it in about two hours, so he did a fairly fast sprint, considering it is about twelve miles distant.
