Dear Mother & Father,
Not much news, so you must be satisfied with only a small letter; besides time is precious, the scarcity of paper, and the ink I am writing with is on the same level as Podestas ice cream. Haven't had many letters from Australia or from home lately; had three papers yesterday; they were addressed to 16th B.H.Q, Wareham, so I expect I shall have more soon.
Ere this you will have learnt that I have left the brigade, and am in the 61st battalion at Fovant waiting for my transfer to Codford to join Rupe. Rupe was over this week end & has gone back a few minutes ago, after staying the night.
He met dozens of his old mates of all ranks, dozens, Prior was one of them, he is O.C. of our company.
