The day I left was not too bright; the 6th reinforcements of the 1st, 2nd 3rd & 4th & 13th came from Sydney, & we picked up at Fremantle 6th rein of four other battalions, but I forgot to say that she had some on from Queensland also. We came across with the "Wandilla", & a slow old tub she is too, for it could hardly keep up with our boat, but all the same it only took five weeks. I am at present at Gaba Tepe in the rest camp, for
I have had just on three weeks of it in the trenches. I was a bomb thrower but the light horse has taken the bombs over now. They are a bit too
fiery for me, but we had only to throw them about fifteen to twenty yards, for we were at the dead-end. If you ask me this trouble will not last any longer that six weeks that is the turkey war.
