week. Will go to this big block of toffee you told me about here it is ½" a suck for two minutes. Glad to hear of Rupes arm getting better. He has got a snifter job hasnt he? Have seen Rod he is out the trenches. There was a bit of a scrap here the other day, but of course we came off best. Is Gassey back? Tell him to write! Shall give these germ hums something for him. Got that photo which you sent, expecting the other soon. You must have heard of the Russians in France, well we saw them pass, and I havea photograph of them. Did you see Jim Whalan who was returned to Australia. The drawing room must look snifter now, so must the back. Why dont you stay where you are, we have enough at war now. Rod came up to me, and the first thing after the greeting said how much brass have you got, I gave him fifty disasters, but havent got it back yet, dont expect it whats more. Ask Rupe about those photographs I asked him to take of all the Manly floats also other ferries, and local views P.O. & Town Hall etc, as they will be landing in England; will do Billy Hughes out of a job. Shall close now hoping this young budget finds you all in good health. Am writing to you all to-day.
I remain
Your affectionate Son
Rex
