Jan 10th 1918

Dear Dad,
Have been unable to write the last two months as it has been so very cold, so you will have to excuse me for not doing so.

Mother has not even had her usual many times on account of the same complaint; from now I will try and keep up the usual letters.

It has been snowing for weeks past and we have been having some very cold winds which are I term lazy winds, the [they] want go round you but go straight through one. We had a very good Christmas. The best since I have left Australia, we had an excellant dinner. Boxing day proved even better
