the peninsula, for they have plenty of room, and work; some have got a bit frisky, others have tamed down considerably. It might have cooled Rod down too, Eh! How is Rupe getting along, is his arm better yet? Yesterday I had more papers from Dad, also from G M & Co, and a registered letter from you dated August 2nd. I had a letter returned to me which I wrote from Liverpool camp, it was dated May 17th, and addressed to Rod, while he was on the "Marama", it had been to San Francisco, New Zealand, and had about thirty post marks on it. Talking about -- I will take a walk up to the "Dinkums" seventeenth battn and see if Jim Taylor is still about; he was in that battalion when it left Sydney. Yvonnes photograph has not arrived yet, but had one of a girl friend of mine. This guard is a cold shop, so that is an excuse for this writing; it is better than all that drill though. Well Mother I will have to close now, as news is very scarce. Could tell you a lot of this ancient place but wont be allowed to do so. Love to all from all.
I remain
Your loving Son
