I shall do so the first chance I get, that will be in about two more days, or so.  By the time that this letter has reached you I will be eighteen, for my birthday is on the thirteenth of this month. For my birthday I would like a nice cake currant, or plain or a plum pudding.  How is Neutral Bay getting on? Have those new works started to squeak on the Gasworks yet? Has any more of thetramline been washed away yet? How many times have you missed the boat at Hayes Street, and had to run to Kurraba or Milsons Point? By the time I get back you ought to be able to race me.  And you ought to be able to "Shoot" the breakers at "Manly".  John Gasey told me about Rod being in the 20th Battalion, and just before they left
