Dear Mother,
Your letters to hand (one an old date) a few days ago, but still none from Rupert.  Everyone is asking about him, bur he appears to be alright and back in camp again; its ages ago since I had a letter from him or even a paltry post card; another party is also painted with the same brush, as she seldom writes a letter, always a postcard; " writing next mail".  Joss has been asking  about the farmer for a good few weeks, in act it must be two onths since I had word from him, so you an guess how anxious certain parties are.  I shall follow your advice about that party. Have written to Auntie Florrie and shall do likewise to Aunt Annie as soon as I can find her address which I have lost; when you write
