cut hair now so good, if you want a hair-cut, you had better be insured, for they drag it out. Am glad you were pleased with my letter.

I have written to Rup a couple of times, and expecting a letter from him very soon. His battalion is just near ours, and am going to take a walk round after, to see how he is getting on. I expect to see Rod soon as we go back, which will be in a day or two, as all the reinforcements after the 6th, are camped on the peninsula to-gether. I have been lucky yet, not to be hit, I was sure I would have had a crack of some sort. You need not tell me to be careful, as I use, or will use my head as well as rifle and bayonet.

Dont expect me back for Christmas dinner, as we'll be in Constantinople that day, (we hope) and will have a good tuck in. There is plenty of room here for more men, but no need whatever for you to come. I'll send you a Turkish dog, one with a German bark. (Machine gun) I had my photos taken at Heliopolis, nine miles from Cairo. Only send two of each, I think that will do thanks. Hope you have passed for N.C.O. But dont you come. Three is enough. Excuse this writing.

I remain
Your affectionate Son
Rex.
