Dear Mother,
As you see by the above I have again altered my abode, but this is only temporary until I get over to Rupe which I hope won't be long. Rupe put the claim in for me, but up till now either of us have heard nothing about it. Last night I took a walk down to Herdcott [Hurdcott] Camp to see some mates of mine; was asking for one in particular when who should I meet but my old pal S.M. Bock; this man has stuck to me ever since I met him on Gallipoli. The first time I met him was in "Death Valley" or where we practiced bomb throwing; he was sent down for some men who cold could bomb, they sent down for me, tells you how short of men we were.
The way to the firing line he took me down to the beach & showed me where to buy chocolate & milk etc. off the sailors.
