in my life; it is a funny sensation to ride one they make you feel sea sick with the lurch they make; I could not make it run, so I gave up all hopes of doing so. Well after resting there until four thirty on the 28th, we had something to eat (bully & biscts [biscuits]) and started off for another go through the desert; all the men we just begining to grow tired by half past ten, but "The Heads" were riding on horseback kept them on till one o'clock. At that time it is very hot, so all the men drank any kind of water so long as it was not salty; after dinner we started for the a place called Moaska, [also spelt Moascar] and, which by the way was only four miles away. I forgot to tell you all the ambulances were full before we reached Marsuh the first day, so they sent all those who could
