photograph yet; expet expect I shall get one soon; you might as well send yours & Dads, then I will have the whole of ours. How is Rupe getting on, can he use his arm yet or is it out of use entirely? I promised him that I would get quits with "Abdul" for it, you can rest assured with that. Glad Rod met Rupe in Melbourne, but when we meet again it will be at "The Nest", or I hope so. When I get back we will have a good time up country somewhere. Talking about that, Victor Freeburn was seriously wounded; he is a Quarter Master in the seventh Light Horse ("Gentlemen Riders"). We have had a lot of casualties on the Peninsula, in fact too many. for the bargain. We did not like coming away and leaving our dead
heroes, especially those of us who had relations killed there. Well we are away from that place now, in the desert land and out of the way of civilisation, except for a few who run the canteens round the various camps. Had a letter from Auntie Edie last mail, but have not time to write just yet, as I have still eleven letters to write. Have joined the signallers again, and am on the head qrs. Well you will have to excuse me for this short letter, for I am writing by candle light which is flickering. Good bye & good luck to you all, and dont worry about us for we are tip top. Love to
all at home from
I remain
Your loving Son
Rex.
