Dear Gin,
It is quite a month ago since I wrote to you last, but that was not my fault, nor was it the postmans fault; that was on account of the evacuation of Gallipoli. Your last letter from me was on December 2nd along with one from for Mother; my mail comes regularly now, but my parcels dont seem to, for I have not received a single post card. You said that you were sending along some of your photographs; they have not arrived yet, nor have my ones, those that were taken in King Street "ASTI". Please send one of each along also one of Mum & Dad, as I am collecting photos now; I have already got a good collection of friends of mine; will have a look at S.M. Healy's photo of you. Dad says that Jess is just the sort you like, is that so? We used to have great sport when she was living down there, we used to face each other at meal times; everyone used to wonder what I was laughing at; they soon found out. She is full of devilment and will take part in any mischief that goes on, ask her some of our carryings on, she'll tell you. I have had letters from G M & Co, but none from
