Rod gave me a bundle of letters from home and elsewhere that he had collected since my departure to Blighty.  Yvonne sent me a long letter
at last, but as she has plenty of work to do she has a good excuse, as i know what it is.  So Rupe is over again he is I think at Salisbury Plains, that is where all the Australians are sent.  Had a letter from Aunt Eve & Edie, Doris and one from Mr Falconer of G. M. & Co, his two sons are in my Batt.

Every thing here is frozen now it has taken the place of that awful mud; food and all is hard.  When we go for a wash or any kind of water, we take a sand bag and an axe, bring back contents
