eight blankets with a mattress and boards (raised so as to form a bed), also good meals; so far I have had porridge, honey, butter, jam, mince meat, and plenty of mutton with vegetsbles including potatoes, cabbage & turnips; all the camp is setting to work to grow their own spuds because there is a terrible shortage amongst the civilian population, we get the majority of them of course.

Am cabling to-morrow for another ten pounds for I shall be here some months in this camp alone, before we ever start away to the war; I'll stay for good if I can.  On my way here I stayed at Auntie Annies place for the night; I left a lot of souveniers there too.  Keith wasn't too good as he had
