drill, knock off at 11 for "Smoke Oh" drill till twelve, then have dinner at 12-15; 2-o'clock drill till 4 pm, tea at 4.45 then kick up a row till half past nine. For din breakfast we have steak & eggs, or onions, dinner; we have rabbits, or tripe, ox tongue with plenty of green vegetables, for tea we have cold meats or fish, but pudding every midday meal, its like a palace to "Liverpool". We never get any of that famous "Liverpool Stew", but good food. On Sunday we had "Pork" you know. You will have to excuse this letter as I am a bit excited, and want to get it away so as not get it censored, for we are going to march through the town here, where I will give it to an onlooker.
At ten in the morning, we are leaving here for a route march, for about three miles up, and end up with sports, we are going to play the Western Australians football. When you write to me put en route, or c/o V.T.B. There is plenty of sport aboard, and the rag-time music you would have enough for twelve months. I have got my beer sold so far for six pence a pot, booked up for we get it served after we leave here. Hair cutting going on snifter, made five' & six'. We leave here with thirty other transports; to-night when we were coming out, we passed the Prinz Sigusmund, (late N.D.L.).
Well I think I will have more to say next time, as I have to give the others a chance also. Am writing to Mrs Anderson, also Mrs & Mrs Oakes also & Burnsides. Good-bye
